DAS Company is an authorized Astor distribution and project partner, supplying the complete Astor Enerji portfolio — oil-type distribution transformers, cast resin dry-type transformers, power transformers (up to 280 MVA, 400 kV), compact transformer substations, RMU ring main units and medium-voltage metal clad switchgear — to utility engineers, industrial energy managers and infrastructure project teams across Europe from our Bulgaria base.
Astor oil-type distribution transformers cover the standard utility and industrial distribution range from 25 kVA to 5 MVA at primary voltages up to 36 kV, manufactured to IEC 60076 and EN 50160 standards. ONAN (oil natural air natural) cooling is standard; ONAF, OFAF and ODAF forced cooling configurations are available for higher rating applications. OLTC (on-load tap changer) and DETC (de-energised tap changer) variants are produced to ±5% or ±10% voltage regulation in 2.5% steps for grid-connected distribution substation applications. Astor distribution transformers are manufactured in Ankara in a 105,000 m² production facility — one of Europe's largest transformer manufacturing sites — with CE marking and IEC type test certification for European network connection. Mineral oil-filled, ester fluid (BIOTEMP®/FR3) and silicon fluid variants are available for fire-risk and environmentally sensitive substation locations.
Astor cast resin dry-type transformers provide transformer installations in indoor locations where oil-filled units are not permitted — including multi-storey buildings, hospitals, data centres, metro stations, shopping centres and offshore platforms. Cast resin (epoxy encapsulated) LV windings and HV coils deliver F1 fire performance (self-extinguishing with no flame propagation), E2 environmental classification (condensation and pollution resistance) and C2 climatic classification per IEC 60076-11 — meeting the most stringent EU building fire regulations without suppression systems or bunded containment. Available in IP00 (open), IP23 and IP44 enclosure ratings for indoor and semi-outdoor installation. Cooling class AN (natural air) and AF (forced air fan cooling) available for compact substation integration. Terminal voltage: 6 kV, 10 kV, 11 kV, 20 kV, 22 kV, 33 kV (primary); 400 V, 690 V (secondary).
Astor power transformers cover transmission and sub-transmission grid applications from 5 MVA to 280 MVA at primary voltages from 36 kV to 400 kV, manufactured to IEC 60076 with full type and routine testing. OLTC-equipped autotransformers (154 kV/33 kV, 220 kV/110 kV, 400 kV/154 kV) cover grid interconnection and voltage step-down applications for transmission system operators. Three-winding power transformers cover generation step-up, industrial HV supply and wind farm transformer substation requirements. Astor has delivered power transformers to more than 60 countries including Macedonia (400 kV, 280 MVA), Malaysia (33 kV, 30 MVA) and Portugal — demonstrating certified manufacturing capability for European grid operator specifications including CEI, VDE and EN 50160 compliance.
Astor compact transformer substations (prefabricated, concrete or GRP kiosk) integrate MV switchgear (RMU or metal clad), MV/LV transformer and LV distribution board in a weatherproof outdoor enclosure — providing complete turn-key 10–33 kV to 400 V distribution substation solutions for utility grid extension, industrial site supply, renewable energy grid connection and urban underground cable network ring feeds. The Astor RMU (Ring Main Unit) provides SF6-insulated or vacuum-insulated 12–24 kV switching for cable ring network protection with load break switch, fuse and earth switch combinations. Compact substations comply with IEC 62271-202 and EN 50160 for European utility network connection.
Astor metal enclosed switchgear (MV panels, 6–36 kV) provides indoor primary substation protection and switching with vacuum circuit breakers (VCB), current transformers, voltage transformers, relay protection and busbar systems in a type-tested IEC 62271-200 compliant panel. Metal clad switchgear with draw-out VCB circuit breaker mechanism covers primary substations requiring full isolation capability for live maintenance. Astor air insulated modular switchgear (AIS) covers outdoor primary substation applications at 10–36 kV with disconnectors, earthing switches and surge arresters on a galvanised steel structure.
Astor MT shunt reactors and magnetic control shunt reactors provide reactive power compensation for long HV cable circuits, reducing overvoltage on unloaded or lightly loaded transmission lines. Grounding transformers (zigzag / earthing transformers) create a neutral earthing point for delta-connected MV networks, providing earth fault current for protection relay operation. Special transformers including furnace transformers, rectifier transformers and traction transformers are manufactured to project-specific specifications with full IEC type test documentation.
