Prysmian FP200 Gold is the global market-leading fire-resistant cable for fire alarm, emergency lighting and evacuation system wiring — providing circuit integrity in fire at temperatures up to 850°C for a minimum of 3 hours (tested to BS 8434-2, IEC 60331-21). Approved by LPCB (Loss Prevention Certification Board) and BASEC, FP200 Gold is the preferred specification of fire alarm engineers and building control authorities across Europe for life safety system cable applications. The mineral insulation ensures FP200 is not reliant on an organic insulation material for circuit integrity — unlike standard fire-resistant PVC or XLPE cables where the insulation degrades at fire temperatures. The Prysmian FP Plus Enhanced provides the LPCB-approved FP200 construction in a larger available core count and cross-section range for emergency power circuit applications including emergency lighting sub-mains and fire suppression system power feeds requiring 30, 60 or 90-minute circuit integrity retention.
The Prysmian NHXMH (300/500V, LSOH thermoplastic insulation and sheath, harmonised HAR approved) provides halogen-free power and control cable for fixed installation in buildings where EN 50399/IEC 60332-3-22 flame retardance and BS 7622/IEC 61034 low smoke emission are required by building regulations. NHXMH replaces NYM in applications where the PVC sheathing of NYM is not acceptable due to acid gas and smoke emission concerns — including schools, hospitals, shopping centres, rail stations and public buildings subject to EU Construction Products Regulation (CPR) cable classification requirements (Cca/B2ca/C2ca). The Draka (Prysmian Group) instrumentation cable range covers individually screened and overall screened pairs and triples for 4–20 mA analogue signal transmission, thermocouple extension, RTD and HART protocol circuits in industrial process and building automation installations. Individual screen isolation (IS) prevents crosstalk between signal pairs in multi-pair cables; overall drain wire (OS) provides EMC screening against external electromagnetic interference from power cables and VSD outputs running in parallel cable trays.
